It brings together the thinking and analysis of experts on contemporary health system reforms in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Spain, the United States, Mexico and Québec. Health as an essential component of the Social Welfare State, universality and equity, the system's financing structure, rising health care costs, sector privatization, representation of the interests of social actors, are some of the themes mentioned.
